Family-Friendly Residency

We know that for many artists, the biggest barrier to a residency is leaving family behind. One session each season is dedicated to artists who need to bring their children (ages 4–14) along for the experience.

While artists work in their studios during the day, children participate in guided programming from 9 am to 3 pm on weekdays — activities that draw on the farm, the landscape, and age-appropriate creative projects. Partners are welcome to explore the area, join community events, or simply enjoy the Vermont countryside.

A $500 partner fee covers meals and housing for one accompanying adult. Children are included at no additional cost. The selected artist still receives all the same benefits as our standard Artist Residency: housing, meals, studio space, and community. If you are applying with both parents as artists, each parent needs to apply separately so we can properly allocate studio spaces unless you are applying collaboratively.
