Terrie Samundra is a Writer-Director who is currently set to direct her debut feature in the Spring of 2019, the Netflix Original film KAALI KHUHI (The Black Well). She is the Writer-Director of ICE CREAM WALLAH, KUNJO and A SHORT TALE OF XUAN, and has worked as a commercial director on a national campaign for Planned Parenthood. Her films have screened internationally, garnering many accolades. Samundra is a Sundance Institute Screenwriter's Lab alumna and a SFFILM/Kenneth Rainin Screenwriting fellow. She has written extensively with her creative partner David Walter Lech on the screenplays KAALI KHUHI (The Black Well), WESTERN INTERIOR SEAWAY, BETAMAX (2013 Sundance Writer’s Lab) and TOWN BLOODY HALL (adapted from the documentary by D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hegedus). They have two episodic pilots, THE BLOOD BELOW (2018 Fox Screenwriter's Lab Finalist) and THE BALLAD OF POOJA (currently attached to Pilgrim Media, A Lionsgate Co). Her 2018 SFFILM awarded screenplay, ME, MY MOM, & SHARMILA, is a collaboration with Actor-Creator Fawzia Mirza. Terrie is a National Geographic Grant recipient, a Princess Grace Award recipient, and an active member of the Writer’s Guild of America. She is the daughter of Punjabi author and poet, Shashi
