RESIDENCY PROGRAMS AND APPLICATIONS
Marble House Project is a multi-disciplinary artist residency program that fosters collaboration & the exchange of ideas by providing an environment for artists across disciplines to live and work side by side. Our residency program is uniquely curated to bring together a diverse group of artists to facilitate exchange of different expertise, histories, techniques and perspectives. With a focus on conservation of natural resources, integration of small-scale organic food production and the arts, residents sustain their growth by cultivating and participating in the surrounding grounds, working on their artistic vision and forging partnerships within the community. Marble House Project is founded on the belief that the act of creating, whether in the studio or in nature, is how human potential expands and community thrives. Please scroll down to find out which residency program is best for you.
We welcome any and all to apply because we are interested in a diverse group of applicants. Marble House Project does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. If you have any questions or need assistance in applying, please contact Info@MarbleHouseProject.org
The culinary artist residency runs concurrently with the artist residency so that both Chef and Artists can interact and learn from one another. Each culinary artist will have ample time to become familiar with Dorset and surrounding areas, meet farmers and other organic purveyors and delve into their own food creations and aesthetics. Chefs will be given a professional kitchen near the garden. Occasionally, Marble House Project has other events where the kitchen may need to be shared. Chefs will have access to the organic farm at Marble House Project to source ingredients and can work with our farmers to learn more about cultivation and harvest. Each chef presents a farm to table dinner or some other food related experience on the final weekend of the residency. Marble House Project will cover costs associated with this event. Chefs are not responsible for cooking for the artists residents but they will be paired with the artists for meal making two or three times during the residency. The only exception is the family friendly residency where they will need to supervise and help cook all evening meals. For this residency a small stipend will be offered.
Applications are closed for the 2018 Season. Please check back in early October, for the 2019 Season.
The curatorial field has expanded rapdily in the last decade. Today's curators are largely independent and build exhibitions, programming and publications for museums, galleries, biennials, project spaces and the web. The institutional support for curatorial research must respond to the significant cultural impact of independent curators today. Our Curatorial Residency will run alongside our Artist Residency Program.
