MARBLE HOUSE PROJECT 2017 artist RESIDENCY PROGRAM

April 24 - October 25

Marble House Project is pleased to announce the artists participating in the 2017 Artist Residency Program. In our fourth year of creating and supporting multidisciplinary artist communities, we are honored to be hosting 61 Artists-in-Residence from 15 countries, as they dedicate themselves to focusing on process, research, and the creation of new work. The artists in this year's residencies are looking at issues central to the current cultural debate and fundamental to the evolution of our society, including: transnationalism, ethnography, systemic racism and racial justice, LGBTQ rights, climate and food justice, and the ramifications of  "beauty." Other conceptual themes include deconstructing the family dynamic, performance as a mechanism for group healing, healing as a conduit for art-making, and the relationship between movement and poetry.

Along  with their studio practice, the Artists-in-Residence will engage our local community by participating in ART-seed, in which they present their work to the general public. ART-Seed is free of charge and will run from the last Tuesday in April through the third Tuesday in October. Our culinary artists will be presenting monthly farm to table dinners, culinary workshops and have a test kitchen at the Marble West Inn, which will be open to the public two nights a week.
